BUZZBELL

BuzzBell is a messaging platform allowing customers to send messages and make calls that bypass devices set to “Silent” and “Do Not Disturb”. The bypass feature is capable of being deployed as a “Buzz” (vibrating notification) or a “Bell” (audible ring).

In addition to designing the app’s marketing graphics, I made significant contributions to designing the interface itself.

The app was recognized in TIME’s 100 Best Inventions of 2021 for “Messaging that Makes Sense” in the list’s “Connectivity” category in November 2021.

IN-TELLIGENT

The In-telligent app enables clients to deliver urgent, critical alerts that bypass “Silent” & “Do Not Disturb” settings using patented technology. Clients include AMBER Alerts, USGS, schools, colleges, golf clubs, property managers, weather agencies, & municipalities. In September 2019, Meta was approached to integrate this technology into Facebook, Messenger, & WhatsApp.

UI DESIGN

MOBILE APPLICATIONS, EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEMS

NEEDUNOW

An emergency communication mobile app I designed for Chicago tech startup In-telligent, whose patented technology allowed users to effectively alert each other (family, friends, etc.) by overriding “Silent” and “Do Not Disturb” settings at the tap of a button (October 2019 - March 2020).

ALERTA GUATE

An emergency notification app for the Government of Guatemala, powered by In-telligent’s patented “Silent Override” technology to deliver urgent, reliable alerts. International lottery firm Tenlot Group introduced In-telligent to Guatemalan officials & facilitated collaboration. I designed Alerta Guate in correspondence with In-telligent’s engineering teams, aligning brand guidelines & government specifications. (February 2019 - April 2020)

WHITE-LABEL APPS FOR INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENTS

Following a successful collaboration, In-telligent & Tenlot formed a partnership in August 2019. Leveraging Tenlot’s global network, we identified over 20 potential government clients. In response, we transformed Alerta Guate into a white-label ENS platform - customizable for each nation while retaining core functionality. This led to 49 nation-branded apps across six continents.

To ensure culturally resonant design, I conducted nation branding research, incorporating flags into UI styling, official seals for alert authenticity, & language preferences for localization. Guided by our CEO’s strategy, each app was fully functional & published on the App Store & Play Store ahead of proposal meetings - demonstrating respect & readiness for each nation’s needs.

PALMETTO BAY CONNECT

A community-based emergency communication mobile app I designed for Florida’s Village of Palmetto Bay, giving village officials the ability to send important updates to its citizens, including mute-bypassing alerts when necessary (May 2021 - June 2021).
